These material lists and instructions are as simple as possible to help you make your own practise gear cheaply and easily.

Poi

Materials:
- pair of knee high socks
- 2 tennis balls

Take a pair of knee high socks, stick a tennis ball in the end of each sock and knot the open end. Stripey and/or colourful socks look great.

Staff

Materials:
- broom handle or 1.2m pine dowel
- 2 tennis balls
- electrical tape

Cut 1 hole in each tennis ball and insert a tennis ball over both ends of the dowel. Wrap the electrical tape over the tennis balls and down the staff shaft to secure the balls to the staff. Wrap the electrical tape approximately 15cm in either direction from the centre point of the staff, along the shaft to create a grip.

Twin Staff

Materials:
- 2 broom handles or 2 x 0.9m pine dowels
- 4 tennis balls
- electrical tape

Cut 1 hole in each tennis ball and insert a tennis ball over both ends of the dowel. Wrap the electrical tape over the tennis balls and down the staff shaft to secure the balls to the staff. Wrap the electrical tape approximately 15cm in either direction from the centre point of the staff, along the shaft to create a grip. Do this to both staffs.

Rope Dart

Materials:
- cotton rope up to 1cm in diameter
- 3 tennis balls

To get the required length of rope, you need rope that runs from the end of your outstretched right arm to the end of your outstretched left arm and then hangs as far as the floor on one side only. Allow extra rope for knots and a wrist loop. A total length of 4m should be plenty. Make 2 slits, in each tennis ball, on opposite sides, big enough that you can thread the rope through but not so big the balls fall apart. Thread all 3 tennis balls onto one end of the rope and secure in place with a knot. Tie a loop at the other end of the rope, big enough for your wrist to comfortably fit through.

Hula Hoop

Materials:
- 3m of 20mm blue line irrigation pipe (from Bunnings or similar)
- piece of wooden dowel 10-12cm long that fits snugly in the pipe
- gaffer tape
- electrical tape to make it look flancy

Join the ends of the irrigation pipe by sticking the dowel half way in each end. Then tape over the join with gaffer tape to hold the join closed. Now wind the electrical tape in a spiral along the entire length of the hoop to make it look pretty.

Contact Juggling Ball

Materials:
- hockey ball

Go to a sports shop and buy a standard hockey ball. Too easy!
